VFX Generalist - Emerging Technologies

The position is permanent and full-time.

Location: Munich (hybrid: remote + on-site as required).

Your key responsibilities include

You'll be at the heart of visual content creation, working with both traditional VFX techniques and cutting-edge production tools that seamlessly integrate with professional workflows.
Together with our production team, you'll push the boundaries of what's possible when classic filmmaking craft meets modern production technologies.
You'll drive projects independently, experiment with advanced production techniques, and contribute to shaping an innovative creative culture.
As part of a forward-thinking international team at the Mediawan Group, you'll play a key role in defining our future direction and establishing new production methodologies. We are building something innovative.

Your Qualifications and Skills

You can work on-site at our Munich office on a regular basis (several days per week) - while some home office flexibility exists, consistent office presence is essential.
You have solid professional experience in VFX production through compositing, 3D modeling/animation, film school, or equivalent roles – you understand production pipelines inside and out and have hands-on experience with visual effects workflows.
You're proficient with industry-standard VFX tools: Nuke, After Effects, and ideally 3D applications like Maya, Blender, or Houdini. You understand rendering workflows and have a strong foundation in compositing techniques.
You have a deep understanding of traditional filmmaking concepts: camera operation, lighting principles, color grading, and Adobe Creative Suite – the backbone of professional content creation.
You have a technical mindset and are passionate about pipeline optimization and process automation – constantly thinking about how to streamline workflows and build systems that make production more efficient. Experience with scripting (Python or similar) is a plus.
You're curious about emerging technologies and open to exploring how new tools can enhance your VFX work. Familiarity with modern production tools like ComfyUI, RunwayML, Kling, LumaLabs, Midjourney, or similar platforms is valuable but not required – we're looking for your willingness to grow with the evolving industry.
You embrace a collaborative mindset and actively discover, evaluate, and integrate new tools to push creative boundaries and enhance production quality.
You thrive in dynamic environments, communicate confidently across technical and creative teams, and are excited to shape the future of VFX and content creation.
You are proficient in German and have excellent English skills.
